Photographing the Mission Nuestra Senora de la Soledad

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

The mission is named after Mary, Our Lady of Solitude

The Mission Nuestra Senora de la Soledad is named for a special devotion to Mother Mary and her grief on Holy Saturday.  The mission is in the middle of Northern California farm country – literally.  You exit 101 on Arroyo Secco just outside of the small town of Soledad. The small mission site is surrounded by miles and miles of farms.  It is a very simple mission and is quite beautiful in its simplicity.  Here is what we saw.

We have now photographed 13 of the 21 missions.  We plan to complete the project in 2014.  See our other blogs about the California missions.
